Lacoste is set to release three new men’s fragrances next year, inspired by the iconic Lacoste polo shirt, created by Réne Lacoste way back in 1927. Coded as L.12.12, (L for Lacoste, 1 for the material, Cotton Petit Piqué, 2 for the style, short-sleeved and 12 for the version number finally selected) Réne’s short-sleeved breathable cotton shirt was something of a revelation for tennis players at the time who were more used to stiflingly hot long-sleeved blazers.
While Lacoste polo shirts are currently available in thirty eight colours (from flamingo pink to majoram green and everything in between), these latest fragrances will be available in just three versions:
L.12.12 White
Simple, fresh and elegant, White opens with notes of grapefruit, cardamom, rosemary, cedar, enhanced by natural extracts of Mexico tuberose, and ylang-ylang. A base of sensual leather, suede and cedar wood runds this one off.
L.12.12 Blue
An intense masculine aquatic with extracts of peppermint and grapefruit, complemented by notes of aromatic sage, orange blossom, patchouli, amber and oak moss.
L.12.12 Green
Representing nature and well-being, Green opens with Italian bergamot, grapefruit and melon ice followed by extracts of verbena, lavender blue, thyme, birch leaf and fig.
L.12.12 White, Blue and Green is scheduled for release in February next year and will be available as a 30ml and 100ml eau de toilette.
