Cacharel To Release Scarlett Perfume

Good news for Cacharel perfume fans as we hear word of a new perfume called Scarlett, scheduled for release this July. The fragrance is said to be a fresh take on their classic Anaïs Anaïs and is aimed at younger women aged between 15 and 25.

While some have attributed this latest release to actress Scarlett Johansson, the name Scarlett is more of a general reference to the archetypal feminine heroine, as in Scarlett O’Hara from the classic movie Gone With The Wind, the Southern Belle who would stop at nothing to protect herself and her family.

Scarlett perfume, with its intricately designed flacon, is described as “romantic, fresh and daring” and combines floral notes of jasmine and honeysuckle with tea leaves, citrus and pear on a sandalwood base. This will no doubt be a popular new fragrance for Cacharel but in my mind it still doesn’t make up for them having discontinued two of my other Cacharel favourites namely Gloria and Eau d’Eden – I’m still upset about that!

L’Oreal Goes Green For Earth Day

L'OrealHoping to boost their green credentials, French beauty giant L’Oreal has announced its long term green initiatives which aim to cut the company’s greenhouse gas emissions in half by 2015.

And no, this wasn’t just a publicity stunt aimed to coincide with Earth Day on Tuesday. Since 2005 the company has been making strides in its attempts to cut emissions, reduce water use and increase recycling. Last year alone the company reduced emissions by 6.6%, a total of 11.5% since 2005 when emissions were 230.3 million tons.

So how does this affect you as a fragrance buyer? Well besides the L’Oreal brand, the company also owns CacharelDieselGiorgio ArmaniLancome and Ralph Lauren so if you buy any of those products not only can you smell great but you can also feel good knowing that you are doing a little bit more to help the environment.
